Learn to Walk with the Animals
The Chomp & Clack Alligator Push Toy encourages exploration and discovery with a playful, brightly colored swamp scene. Three green gators in a blue pool are the centerpieces of the toy, and each of the four wheels features a multicolored fish that appears to be swimming as the wheels turn.
A wooden handle extends from the back of the base and includes colorful details of cattails and butterflies on its supports. Butterfly and ladybug beads attached to the supports are fun for little hands to slide and spin.
Designed to Encourage Movement and Discovery
The toy's design helps teach motor skills as well as basic cause and effect. With each step your child takes, the alligators take turns opening and closing their mouths with a gentle clacking noise. The alligators' noise and animation encourages movement and development of gross motor skills, while spinnable, slidable beads on the handle supports help improve fine motor skills.
In addition, the toy promotes agility, balance, and exercise. The handle is simple to grab and hold, so your little one can steer the push toy in straight lines or along wandering paths. Non-skid wheels let your child walk along smooth surfaces without moving too fast or leaving any unsightly marks on your floor. The wheels also allow your waddler to move forward and backward without veering off course or getting stuck.
Durable, Dependable Handcrafted Construction
The Chomp & Clack Alligator Push Toy is handcrafted and hand sanded from select hardwood and made with nontoxic dyes and paints. Measuring 15 by 11-3/4 by 15 inches (H x W x D), the toy is wide and weighty enough to give wobbly babies the support they need to fearlessly take their first steps. Tiny hands can easily grasp the raised handlebar. The push toy requires adult assembly, which is simple to do with only a Phillips-head screwdriver.
While our testers were pleased by the overall construction of the toy, they did note that the three cutouts in which the alligators move are a little rough at the edges. This was not an issue during testing, but parents should keep an eye out for possible splinters.

The Blythe Gypsy Caravan
Ever since I can remember, I have been fascinated with Gypsy Caravans. I would love to have one for myself, but that is probably not very likely. So, I decided to make one for the Blythes (well, for Broccoli!) and it was a really fun process! The caravan was the centerpiece of the Gypsy Caravan Tea Party I hosted for my doll friends one sunny, lovely Saturday. The inspiration is based off a photo I found online. To construct the caravan, I found most parts at the local Goodwill. They include (all out of wood): an Ikea dish drying rack (the side rails and steps), an office 'in box' the base, an Ikea toy cart that once housed wooden blocks (the wheeled base), a tea tray (the roof) and a picture frame with hinged gate (the front gate and some of the decorative accents). The local Home Depot was kind enough to cut some plywood for me for the back wall and the base between the inbox and the pull toy which I stained. I also got the little brass hooks that just screwed into the sides of the caravan from Home Depot. The rest is just paint, a brown foam sheet for the roof, pretty trims, ribbons and assorted little things I had lying around. (I also borrowed a few things from my dollhouse!) All the charms/beads came from my craft bins and jewelry box, the ribbons were all remnants (except the pillows which were ribbons I got at Nancy's Sewing Basket in Seattle---some even vintage!) It was a really fun summer project! :)
